Airbag Recall

a few months back my 52 plate was recalled to fords for the curtain airbag,saying that a part needed to be changed because in the avent of a smack it would not work

 

ok fine i thought and took it in to fords

all went well or so i thought

 

the next day went ou in the gal only to find that the c/control unit was flashing

for around 10-12 seconds and telling me there was a faullt in the system

 

which i found very strange as it worked fine before fords got there paws on it

 

spoke to the dealership about this

and at first they said it was nothing to worry about ,it just worked that way(yeah right!!)

 

so from taking it further i was then told that the gal had got a fault on the c/c

but it was not from something that they had done

 

so i took it one step further as i thought it was them!!

 

anyway at last they owned up and said that a tech had cut into a small red wire

by mistake and that they where sorry for not telling me :(

 

but it would seem that they only wanted to cover up there naff work in the first place

 

anybody else had this happen to them on the airbag recall

Yep,had this happen to me,but not the air bags. tock car in for servicing,when i collected the car i checked the engine bay a clip that holds the fuel filter was busted. went back in to the service center and told them.There reply was that they forgot to tell me and they did`nt have the part to replace it.lucky i check before leaving the dealer :( s

same old story,had our focus in for a service,and checked the engine bay,and there was a pipe clip brokern,

 

and they told me the same thing

:( "CUT THE RED WIRE!" I'm imagining a bead of sweat dripping from ford technicians brow.... Good to know it wasn't a serious error!
