I opend it up to find a sticky substance on the module and inside the top of circuit board! Seems to me that its coke or pepsi! must of spilt in the compartment on top and leaked into it! darn it hope it can be repaired or tested, pics below. any help will be appreciated. also could not locate the fuse under drivers seat for the system. any help appreciated. thanks mk 22001 Quote

MASTIFF38 Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 You've got two fuses. First one is under dash behind steering wheel. If the clear plastic panel is still covering the fuses trust it will come off eventually :angry:The second fuse is a 4amp on the back of the dvd unit. Rob Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 General advice with this sort of problem is to remove the whole thing from any power and wash all of the contaminant away with soapy water, rinse and dry well in the airing cupboard for a day or two. Once that is done have a good look around anywhere the contamination has been for components with wires or legs missing as the liquid acts to allow electrolytic action and copper gets removed from legs of chips etc. and deposited elsewhere. If all looks OK and the fuses are OK you may just get lucky. 'Ive repaired many items like this in the past, Coffee/tea is bad, Coke and other fizzy drinks come next, and then there's urine...... :38: Hope for the best. Quote
Tikka Posted April 14, 2013 Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 hi iv looked hard for these two fuses but cant seem to find them. the only fuses I can find are the regulate ones near the drivers foot well containing all fuses. cant seem to see any at the back end where the vcr player is either. I just needed to find any additional fuses before I put the Visteon module in the soapy water. or shall I just go ahead and do that anyway? thanks for the reply guys. Quote
caspermccormack Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 I would be getting a can of electric contact cleaner rather than a soapy bath, spray all plugs, connectors and the boards. Is there 12v on the power supply plug? Quote

Tikka Posted April 25, 2013 Author Report Posted April 25, 2013 Hi I used a small container and put some fairy liquid in it and then filled it with warm water. I put the circuit board in this, I did this a few times as the water went cold after a while. And I also left it over night in the same liquid. Quote
