chrislloydie Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Im disappointed that the on board computer in my 02 tdi ghia doesnt give you the 'range' option to show how many miles of diesel you have left. Also, is there any way to stop the average mpg figure resetting every time the engine is switched off. I only get mpg figure for each journey and instant mpg. Is there anyway of changing the settings do I get range and overall mpg readouts? Quote
seatkid Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Dont know about the range, but the computer stores two sets of data - mpg/mileage/time driven/averages for journey or total. On my Mk1, IIRC, you press the up button to scroll through the data items and press down to swap between the data sets - set1 (journey) or set2 (total). A little no.1 or 2 appears in the corner of the LCD to show which set you are looking at. It might be a different procedure for the Mk2 but you will have all the same information too. (consult the manual) Quote
bigdave982 Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) Mk2 press the button underneath the stalk to switch between current journey and total since last resetCurrent journey resets after about an hour with ignition off, both can be reset by holding bottom button in for a coupke of secsAs seatkid says a little1 or2shows which is which Edited April 8, 2013 by bigdave982 Quote
chrislloydie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 Ah thanks for that. Found by pressing the reset button on the underside of the stalk that you can scroll between programme 1 and programme 2 which as you stated is trip info and overall info. Shame about there not being a range option though. Quote
chrislloydie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 Doh, bigdave sorry didnt see that youd already posted the answer for mark 2 galaxy. Thanks mate. Quote
SilverBeast Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 You can enable range or distance to empty look at post 29 of this thread I've done mine using a VAG-TACHO lead from ebay. NOTE NOT a VAG-COM/VCDS-LITE lead Quote
chrislloydie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 Hmm, seems a little bit too techy for me. Lol. Dont suppose any one within a reasonable drive of Milton Keynes or West London has the means to do it and fancies doing mine? Quote
