I bought a ford galaxy 2008 tdci 2.0, damage to front end...had a diagnostic test done with codes P0725 and P1719 but the lad couldn't enter the system any further as he didn't have the correct ford system. I've changed the crankshaft sensor but car will not start properly. Key goes to position 2 and just revs. Messages that come up on the dash: engine malfunction, power steering malfunction. Can I restart the immobiliser just by disconnecting it for a while? What else can be done?

Any help please

Looks like p0725 is "engine speed input circuit malfunction" - i see you have changed the crank sensor does the fault still come up? if so i'd look at the wiring to it bearing in mind that you say its a accident damaged car. The crank sensor not working correctly would stop it from starting.

Not sure on the other error but by the number I would expect its something less critical to starting the engine (the only things i can find seem to point to a gearbox error. - see this link http://www.justanswer.com/uk-ford/6suyv-ford-galaxy-ford-galaxy-07-2-0-tdci-auto-approx.html

You would probably get more luck posting in the MKIII forum though than here.
