Hi Thanks for looking and i really would appreciate any help you can give me on this. I have recently fitted a replacement engine (45,000 miler) to my Galaxy. The original engine was great until it dropped a valve. The new engine starts first time every time from cold and runs perfectly. The problem comes once the engine is hot and then it wont restart until it cool right down. Once cool it fires straight away. The only fault code showing is "low rail pressure". As i still had the original engine, I have swapped the rail pressure sensor, the high pressure pump, the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. Unfortunately I still have the same problem. My feeling is that I have a connection or cable failing when hot but don't really know where to start looking.

The car is a 2.0L TDCi 140 6g

Any advice you can give on this would be most appreciated. Thanks very much. Dave

Hi i recently had the exact same problem( 3 weeks ago).It turned out to be the high pressure pump i fitted a brand new one(off ebay £295) and it cured the problem.Another problem that causes your problem is the leak off on the injectors,it causes the pressure to drop and the car wont start. My mates garage put it on a tester,so we were able to rule that out.If you have got somebody who knows what they are doing with the dianostic machine they could narrow it down to one or 2 things. Most of the garages will give you codes but not find the problem. KEEP IN TOUCH!!!!!
