Nitnat Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 I have a 2009 Galaxy that has just done 30,000 miles me yesterday one of the back boxes just fell off, apparently the pipe has just rotted and its come away. Firstly is this quite normal after only 30,000 miles? Also they have said I will need the whole pipe and two back boxes replacing as you can't just weld the back box back on. It's coming out at over£700 with ford and that's with a ford discount of 15% as I know someone that work there. ATS wanted £1100!!! It has to be an original ford part as no one else makes them either! For obvious reasons I'm not at all happy and just wondered what everyone else's experiences were? At Ford this afternoon as so far they have only quoted over the phone, but could really do with some feedback. Quote
davewill Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Just a thought The ebay link below is to a car breakers in the West Mids who are "breaking" a 2007 Gal Maybe contact them to see if the exhaust is available, and if they would remove it from the car for you If it is, take it (with your car) to an independent exhaust garage and ask them to fit for you Cost of "used" exhaust + fitting must be cheaper than Fraud Prices?? Hope it helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-GALAXY-LX-1-8-TDCI-6-SPEED-MANUAL-2007-O-S-WING-MIRROR-BREAKING-PARTS-/360596824556?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53f53ee1ec Quote
