dragon32a Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Hi Jonnsal, Have you tried re-setting the imobiliser by disconecting the battery? When you come to put it back on flash the plus lead after connecting the minus. It worked for me on a Rover I once owned. Can't hurt to try. Don Quote
jonnsal Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 tried it but still nothing the mechanic was useless not helpful what so everi just cant see how immobiliser is stuck on as the keys unlock by the remote just wont start so frustrating Quote

seatkid Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) First check he hasnt attempted to hot wire the car - i.e. ripped out some wires under the dash or in the engine bay. Immobiliser issue? Has your key been open at anytime, e.g. to change the keyfob batteries? The PATS chip may fall out -Do you have another key? see:http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/24611-keyfob-not-working/?hl=%2Bpats+%2Bchip&do=findComment&comment=174247http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/24657-mk1-diesel-wont-start/?hl=%2Bpats+%2Bchip&do=findComment&comment=174532 Pump issues:Check fuse and relay Edited March 6, 2013 by seatkid Quote
Greebo Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 The PATS chip certainly can cause problems for such a tiny piece of plastic. The slightest dirt on CPS will stop it starting and is easy to clean very quickly. Quote
jonnsal Posted March 7, 2013 Author Report Posted March 7, 2013 The key come apart and the chip fell on floor so i put it back in but also tried other spare key no wires been touched it does start eventually but runs lumpy and I have to use jump leads as it the battery goes flat cause it turns over and over Quote
