2.3 Petrol 2000 Galaxy Starter Motor Compatible?

I may have a problem with my starter on a 2.3 2001 Galaxy Manual

with looking around, i have spotted a starter that is for a 2.3 MK1 Galaxy plus MK2 1.9 Diesel

 

My quetion is, what is the difference between the 2.3 2000 and the 2.3 2001 engine, gearbox and starter combination?

I had a 2.3 manual '99 a few gals ago and remember reading about the engine. (which may have had some mazda design input)

 

As far as I remember, the same 2.3 engine/box combination was carried forward into the MKII.

 

Also - can I add, having owned the 2.3, the 2.8, and tractor.. the 2.3 was by far the best in town drive.

Thanks for that. and yeah the 2.3 is nice with power and smooth. needs a 6th gear and loves to drink though.

I would do a Euro car parts application check for your car and then swop the details to the earlier model and see if they list the same part number.........as the advert says.......simples!
