Noise Whilst Accelerating But Not The Engine.

Just recently seem to have develop a change in vehicle noise whilst acclerating between about 1500 and 2500 rpm. It seems to happen in any gear.

The sound itself does not appear to be coming from the engine but definitely from the engine compartment and on the drivers side.

The noise itself is very hard to describe as its not really a whine or grinding noise more of whoosh.

I got the dealer to have a look and they said it was an EGR valve that vents to air and that it was OK.

 

Does anybody else have any similar sounds / solutions / diagnosis.

 

 

Its a 2002 1.9TDI 115.
