Hello all,

I have a problem with my MK2 Ford Galaxy 2002 Diesel.

Basically, when I turn the heater to "Level 1" or "Level 2", it does nothing. However when I put it to "Level 3" or "Level 4", it blasts out hot air. So the heater works, but I have to keep it on "Level 3" or "Level 4".

Could it be the temperature contol unit (like the unit in the attached picture) which needs replacing?

See attached picture.

Regards.

Sounds like the heater blower resistor pack is kaput. It's behind the glovebox on my mk.I Galaxy, I would think it would be in the same location on yours... unless anyone with a mk.II knows otherwise.

Thank you very much for that, I will replace and let you know my findings.

I found this online for anybody with the same issue:

"If you drop the glovebox down and remove the cover at the top you get access to the blower unit which has the resistor pack attached to the left side by a single srew (ford type - not flat or philips!). Initially it looks like a green connector onto the blower unit (sealed) but the green connector is actually part of the resistor unit and is removeable. If you have climate control the resistor pack will be red."

Regards.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

To be honest, on these symptoms, I would first of all suspect  the 'new' resistor pack that you bought. It may have been faulty or have a duff thermal fuse on top or have been substituted for a faulty one (for whatever reason :glare:)

First of all, get another from a different dealer, to make sure you don't buy the same one again.Let us know what happens.
