Guest provenjohn Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 :( HelloCan anyone tell me how to locl/alarm when leaving a dog inside with rear quarter window open? Is it possible? Also, has anyone had problems with wiper mechanism jamming up?ThanksJohn Quote
pj_andrew Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I have a similar concern. If I leave the children in the car at a petrol station and lock the car to go and pay, the alarm goes off. No surprise really but I won't leave the car unlocked so its a small price to pay. I haven't found a way to disarm the alarm and lock the doors. ! Quote
chromedome Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I thought if you just locked the car with the key, without turning the key one way then the other, it locks without enabling the alarm. Quote
pj_andrew Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I always use the key and just lock the car normally i.e. half turn to the left. The alarm is then set. I need to check the handbook to see if its possible to lock the car but not arm the interior alarm. Quote
Guest cssvas Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I think the handbook says if you turn the key to lock twice within 2 seconds the alarm and double locking are disabled. Quote
pj_andrew Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Thats right. I checked the handbook and on my model (post 2000) you lock the car twice within 2 seconds - this locks the doors but disables the alarm. Apparently it works with the normal key and the remote key. The way to tell is that the flashing red light in the drivers door flashes if the alarm is armed (i.e. lock the car once), and stops flashing if the alarm is disarmed (i.e. after locking the car twice). I can now lock the car at petrol stations with the children inside and not have to listen to the alarm going off ! :) Quote
asimons Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 I had to find this out quick the other day, parking the car on a ferry, didn't want my alarm going off at sea (again). Always surprises me that this information is buried in the manual. My Zafira was similar - you had to press both interior light switches together before locking the car to disabe the ultrasonic sensors. Very clever, but hardly intuitive! Quote
grifjl Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 which two internal lights? I haven't foound this in my manual, but will give it a go.... Quote
