paul178 Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 hi all, just thought id pop on and say THANK YOU!!, i picked up a 2001 1.9 115 diesel galaxy that was running badly on 3 cylinders, after reading through this forum it seemed the likely suspect was the small loom for the injectors, so thats what i went for, all was well until i met the 2 bolts on the rocker cover hidden by the manifold on the back :( not having the power to get it on a set of ramps and 2 inches of snow everywhere i decided to just close the bonnet and wait till the weather warms up. but, while in asda last night i spotted a screw driver set for 8 quid with a slim extension bar and a small 10mm. i got home, got the bonnet up and torch out and amazingly it got to the bolts and undid them :) slid the loom out and cleaned it with petrol and WD40, put it back together and started it, purring on all 4 cylinders.. i cant give it a good run as for some reason the brakes dont work but once they are done and i have run it for a bit i will pop back with an update, thanks once again for all the brilliant info i found on here :) Quote
seatkid Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Check the main vacuum pipe from the servo - its common to split at either end. Quote
paul178 Posted January 20, 2013 Author Report Posted January 20, 2013 thanks, will check that first, going to wrap up and have a look at the rear brakes, its losing brake fluid and 11 months ago it had an advisory on front to rear brake like corroded so thinking the brake line might of had it and be leaking somewhere, would really low read brake pads cause it, maybe the piston being pushed out too far and letting fluid out? thanks again :) Quote
