lyndon23011 Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Hi everybody I own a t reg galaxy 2.3 ghia x can anybody advise or tell how to get this problem sorted I went to my car to go home and she would not start the key keeps coming in half I put key in ignition turned it nothing break down company says it could be the imobliser do I go to ford to solve this or can someone help or advise what to do many thanks Quote
seatkid Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) The PATS (immobiliser) chip is a small black or grey block in the key that readily drops out if the key head is opened. The car will not start without it. Either look for it (where the key came apart - it may be in the drivers footwell for instance ) or use your spare key. PATS chipPATS in key Good luck in finding it! viperclive Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 If you do find it when it's back together and working, a little drop of super glue will prevent it falling apart again, this has happened to me too many times in the past and made me look a right Plonker with the AA man! Quote
