petert1401 Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 Hi, some numpty kicked off the passenger side door mirror off my wife's 56 plate 2000 TDci Mk 3 Ghia so new mirror needed (electric + heated) :27: I'm OK getting the mirror assembly off, but I need to remove the door trim to get at the electrical connector. I can't see any screws/bolts to remove and I'm reluctant to just start levering it off as I'm sure I'll do damage. Can anyone help please?Thanks... Quote
bobbyrabs Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 its easy to do ,open the door look round the edge of the door panel remove all the screw all the way round and there is also a screw behind the door opener remove plastic cover with small screw driver and thats is simple .no levering needed Quote
bobbyrabs Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 this link is no use mate you don't need to take off the door handle remove as above door handle and trim all come off together Quote
whowantstwoknow Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Hi Bobby, I tried as you suggested, but the top half of the door trim just didn't want to budge. I didn't want to force it as afraid I could do damage to the electric window or anything else? From where the door opener is and upwards to how the trim wraps back into the door window, it just didn't want to move freely. I was mainly forcing the trim upwards I've attached an image of said door on the off chance its different across the MK3 range.. ThanksW. Quote
bobbyrabs Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) i assume I am to late with this but the plastic trim round the door opener just comes off pull the door opener as if opening the door and the plastic trim should fall off as long as you have removed the screw of course you will not damage the window you will not even see the window it is behind sound proofing you will just have some plugs to unplug when all the screws are undone push up the door trim to free it nothing should break Edited October 7, 2013 by bobbyrabs Quote
