I have the orange brake warning light on my dashboard and I am struggling to find out why.

A couple of weeks ago I changed the rear pads and discs and the fronts were done 2 months ago so they are all OK. I have checked the brake fluid level and it is on Max and I have linked out both the front pad wear sensors, the 1 wear on the rear and the reservoir but the light stays on.

I am guessing I must have a wiring fault but how do I narrow it down? Is there a way to check why the light is on? Can vag.com help me here?

Cheers all.

Are you sure its not the bulb warning light?

If it definitely is the brake lamp,

I have had this happen after changing brakr pads - and after a while it settled down and eventually went off by itself - never found out why

If it's a Mark2 Galaxy my pads were fine with good sensors but I had a break in the wiring to the pad sensor on the front, the connector you can see with the passenger front wheel off had a broken wire on the plug on the chassis side i.e. not the pad sensor side.

Mine was self inflicted as the caliper fell from where I placed it and swung on the hose and wiring. As it's part of the abs sensor I've just connected the two wires togetther on the plug, it just means keeping an eye on the pad thickness!

Best wishes
