ClassicFan Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Hi guys, Just bought a Galaxy and one of the many jobs was to get the locking wheel nuts off as the previous owner had lost the key. I've done a few of these in my time, so I thought the job should be fairly easy, but those bolts on the galaxy mk2 did not fit any of my universal removers... these are the usual ones sold online and by places like Halfords so beware. Anyhoo - the bolts are now off, I found a remover to do the jub and took one off with a standard socket (for awhile I thought I'd have to spark up the mig and weld a bolt). The remover that works is the helix sort and it works very well. These are a little harder to find but loads of places sell them. I've written a guide on the 3 methods I've used for removing locking bolts before, you can find it in the link below - but basically go find a helix type remover (see guide) and you'll have no issues. Guide for removing locking wheel bolts: http://www.jamesandtracy.co.uk/howto/locking_wheel_nut_removal.htm Right, onwards and downwards to replacing the rack... CF (BTW it's a cracking car - so glad I bought it!) Quote
