renegade802 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Hi all. I own a 1999 galaxy tdi 110bhp. Today i went and jump started a friends car. After he got his car started he took the jump leads off his battery and accidently touched them together whilst they were stil connected to my car which resulted in the usual shower of sparks. Since this has happened every time i switch the ignition off my electric windows go down automatically. Ive tried putting them up with the key by holding it in the lock position and they still come back down. Any ideas what else i could try???? P.S. ive had to pull fuse 55 why im not using the car to stop it happening Quote
SilverBeast Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (i) You could try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds or so to "reset" the control modules (make sure you have your radio KEYCODE first of course).(ii) If you ever jump start a car make sure you have control of the jump leads once it has started! renegade802 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Posted December 20, 2012 Ive tried disconnecting the battery and ive tried a new battery as it has also started beeping sometimes when i take the key out of the ignition and i read somewhere that the 5 beeps can mean the crank sensor but sometimes its the battery. It just seems weird that it has all started since the jump leads were touched together. is there a relay or anything that could have shorted out and be causing these problems. Ive checked the wires in the door gaitor and they are all fine Quote
