Hi does any one have any info on the boot wires that go from the car to the boot as i'm going to replace them due to all 14 of the wires being nipped (damaged) or cut completly i have read on here that replacing is the best option i have been to a auto shop and give them the outside diameter of each wire but they said they would need the amount of strands inside each of the cables any info would be really helpful thanks. Hi there, just done the very same job on my girl as I lost the rear wiper and locking, also curtesy lights, I found broken wires in loom between door and car, also the insulation on the rest looked shot. My solution was a visit to the scrap yard, found a galaxy, cut wires at door to body point, then on the inside of pillar go as far back as possible and again cut, that then gives you at least 3' of good cable the same colour code as yours, now its a simple job of cutting yours in the rear pillar and in the rear door, thus putting the connectors in a position away from stress (leave some extra wire so they are not so tight). You can either solder them together with heat shrink to cover bare joint or like I did use in line crimp connectors staggered along the loom, good luck its easy, I then investigated all doors and did repairs there as well!

Hi there, a few years ago I had a problem with my lights and in the garage they told me there was a short circuit in the wiring of the boot. What they did: they CUT the rubber and insulated the broken wires with tape. That was the worst repair i've ever seen. And because of the rubber hose was gone water could drip everywhere in the car and the boot. So now a few months ago I decided to repair it in a good way. I bought me this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPARATURSATZ-KABELBAUM-HECKKLAPPE-FORD-GALAXY-WGR-BIS-BJ-04-00-/370700948371?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D4290746177051736682%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D370700948371%26

Not really cheap but the quality of the wires is amazing and the hose is an original part! So I removed the trim of the boot and the trim of the pillar and cut out a good part of the wiring. Then I soldered my new wires with my new hose(so I didn't use that clamp system thing as shown). And now there can't get water in my car any more.

I say it again: the wires are amazing quality and very flexible. They have a kind of a silicone insulation. Thes wires are way better than the original wires for that 'hinge' point. They will last much longer than the original wires.

So I bet that your rubber hose is still ok so you can also look for good qualitiy cables as I described.

Hope this can help you.

Hi thanks but £45.55 inc postage seems a bit steep and your right my rubber bit is fine just the wires i have seen in my local auto shop some wire as you say with silicone type of coating VERY flexible but they need the amount of strands/thickness in each of the wires but these are only £1.50 per meter so for the 14 wires £21 then its a case of soldering (preferr that than crimping)he wires in
