Hi - can anybody offer any ideas on this. The trip computer which has been working fine has lost the entire display. Is this control by a fuse? or is it more likely to be a wiring issue?

Thanks

Hi, would be helpful if you told us your model.

But without that, you could try fuses 31 or 32. If they are ok , disconnecting battery for a few minutes to allow trip computer to reboot may help.

acecard, bigdave982,

Thanks for your replies - I've looked at fuses 31 & 32 - they are OK. After reading the manual I decided to look at a few other fuses, all were OK. There was a fuse that was slightly out of the socket but I'm sure in was still making the connection. After a few minutes I decided to look at the manual again and was suprised to see the computer display working fine. I guess my fault finding techniques need some refreshing! I don't know what the issue actually was other than playing with the fuses seems to have resolved the issue. Perhaps removing and replacing 1 of the fuses that was OK has reset the computer.

Also noticed that whilst the display was off the door open warning tone didn't work (this may have been a good thing).

Thanks for the replies - Issue resolved.

(Sorry I didn't let you know which model I've got - 1.9tdi Ghia x 2004).

Good job! :) - its likely that you interrupted the circuit while checking fuses allowing trip computer to reboot. .

btw - your model is on your profile - its me who didnt look properly.
