Water In Drivers Footwell

hi all,

recently bought mk1 galaxy and now starting to have probs with it as water getting in when it rains.have read other replies on this topic and if the results worked.also the car has started to sputter under acceleration,have changed fuel filter and done 70,000 miles.any help appriciated

Hi,

The water in the footwell problem could be doen to the drain tubes in the sun roof being blocked. This allows water to build up in the guttering inside the sunroof and the water then runs down the head lining into the car. Had the same problem with mine when I first bought the car. My solution was to take down the bedroom net curtains and use the wire to push CAREFULLY down the tubes in each corner untill they came out in the wing above the front wheel. It cure mine. Hope this helps.

water in the passenger footwell is usually always scuttle drains blocked (instruction are on this forum of how to clean) or sun roof either blocked channels or pipe becomes disconnected just behind roof lining under passenger sun visor
