Undo Fuel Filter Lid?

I've bought a new fuel filter for Galaxy 08 (mk3).

 

I've removed the pipes and undone the casing.

 

But the fuel filter lid will not budge? I'm using a wrench and turning anti-clockwise

 

Do I need a special spanner to undo the lid?

Nope. If it is like the one in this post it is just a plastic locking ring. Of course be aware not to crush the ring to much as you try and undo it as that will have the effect of making it harder to rotate.
