Guest pwynn Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 I have an "R" 98 galaxy 2.3 Ghia 78,000 miles. In any gear, any rev, any speed, I am experiencing a hesitency where it holds back. Slowing down or dropping a gear brings everything back in. In can happen 5 minutes into a journey, or 25 minutes. A run up the motorway usually brings it out. Best imagined like a petrol restriction. After suspecting petrol manangement and changing some sensors and coil units, my garage said there was low compression in one cylinder. My original plans of selling it have been put on hold - it seems i'm gonna have to fix it before selling.Stranglely enough, I had an identical problem 13 months ago and the garage changed the cat. But apparently not this time.. any idea's ? Quote
charles Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 had similar problem, see: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/Forum/index.p...t=0entry14877 also check wire loom/connector behind battery. Quote
johnb80 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 If it's at light throttle openings and not under acceleration that would rule out H.T. and most of the ignition, it would however point to EGR system. Try disconnecting the EGR valve and see if it improves. Quote
