I have a fault on the high level brake light - it doesn't work ! my dealer tells me I need a new loom ouch ! - can anyone suggest a repair - I have tested the high level light by running a temporary wire from the lower brake light straight to the high level and that works so it must be a problem in the wire running to the high level, any suggestions ;

Most common cause of loss of power to eletrical items in the doors or rear hatch is the breaking of the cables where the pass from the main body to the door or hatch

the cables harden and fracture from all the flexing when the doors/hatch are opened and closed

pull back the rubber boot through which the cables pass and check them for breakages! fix or replace the bads bits and the offending items should work again?

do a search on the topic under the name of mauser, IIRC he was the last person to start a major post on the topic
