Guest price Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I have a fault on the high level brake light - it doesn't work ! my dealer tells me I need a new loom ouch ! - can anyone suggest a repair - I have tested the high level light by running a temporary wire from the lower brake light straight to the high level and that works so it must be a problem in the wire running to the high level, any suggestions ; Quote
Guest nimrod Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 Most common cause of loss of power to eletrical items in the doors or rear hatch is the breaking of the cables where the pass from the main body to the door or hatch the cables harden and fracture from all the flexing when the doors/hatch are opened and closed pull back the rubber boot through which the cables pass and check them for breakages! fix or replace the bads bits and the offending items should work again? do a search on the topic under the name of mauser, IIRC he was the last person to start a major post on the topic Quote
Guest cozi35 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 as the other guy said ,it's a broken wire in the loom on thr top right hand side, its very easy to repair, pull gently at the wires and the broken light you will see.just joint them up and off you go.ok  Quote
