rizvv4n Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 HI This problem is intermittent.Fan comes on at any time, car starts to run sluggish as if it is in wrong gear.If i pull over it smells of burning rubber.Sometimes the oil service light comes on even though a service is not due. This last's for about 15 minutes then fan goes off and all goes back to normal,if i turn the engine off whilst this is happening it seems to reset and go back to normal, however if i do this it happens again very soon after Regards, 2008 58 Reg Ford Galaxy Edge Auto Quote

GaryM Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Have you checked the coolant level? I had a small pin prick in small black breather pipe back to the header tank. This was enough for the coolant spray out but only finely such that it evaproated as soon as it hit the engine block so the leak was not obvoius at first. Quote
rizvv4n Posted January 11, 2013 Author Report Posted January 11, 2013 HI Thanksi have checked the coolant level and its ok Quote
Bredfieldtim Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 I've had the cooling fan come on a couple of times in the recent very cold weather after the car has only been driven for about 5 minutes, and it keeps running for a couple of minutes after the engine switched off. Temperature reading and everything else seems OK, I suspect the fan thermostat. Quote
