This may be a dumb question but does anybody know where I can find a switched live point on my Galaxy other than that on the back of the Head Unit?

I was fitting some multi media stuff at the weekend but failed to find a switched live point that might carry some load. The point on the back of the HU already has some additional bits on it and I didn't want to use that.

Any ideas?

How about the clock or the cigarette lighter, wiring is under the centre console ?

I wouldn't have thought the clock would have a switched live feed on it ?

Switched live coming from ignition barrel thick black wire

Or rear of fuse box thick black wire

Thanks Ian.

I did see that wire but found it really hard to get to. I couldn't get the steering column shroud (lower) off despite many attempts - can only assume the steering wheel need to come off to do this. Is this right?

There is an ignition live to the light switch.I use it for my nokia hands free and road angel. The side panel of the dash can easily be removed after the rubber door seal has been pulled away. (it's a big red un iirc...) [the wire that is]

Like you, I've used the switched live on the headlight switch for my sony ericsson car kit too. I was reluctant to add another device there that draws current as opposed to the car kit that just uses it to sense whether ignition is on.

The switched live on the Head Unit has my multimedia adaptor connected to it and draws a little current but was reluctant to add any further devices there also, however, I have used this point as an interim and have no blown fuses so far.

I think that the ignition switch would have been the best place but that damn lower shroud just won't budge and I ain't gonna take the steering wheel off.

Thanks for all your help so far guys. Further ideas still welcome.
