smithyuk73 Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Hi I have a 1.9td Seat Alhambra on a 2003 Plate. It has developed a mis fire when up to temperature. It sounds like running on 3 Cylinders but only when warm, its fine for first 5 miles approx. I have read lots of possible issues just wondered if anyone could give me some advise. I havereplaced the Fue Filer and also put a Fuel System Cleaner through the system. It appears worse under load for example at take off and up hills. Thanks in advance for your help. Quote
dlt1617 Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Hi I would suggest a fault memory test as it could be straight forward after a test Best wishes Dave Quote
smithyuk73 Posted September 30, 2012 Author Report Posted September 30, 2012 Hi Mike Thanks for the responce. I was hopeing to fix at home without the need to visit a dealer at this stage. You mention a memory test is that something the garage would do. Apologies for coming across as thick. I have been reading a few reports of the ECT Coolant sensor or the wiring to the Injectors. Help appreciated. Quote
smithyuk73 Posted September 30, 2012 Author Report Posted September 30, 2012 Sorry Dave thought you name was Mike. Quote
dlt1617 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Hi Mike (only joking)Try one of the cheep fault code readers off e-bay (I bought a wired one rather than a bluetooth one) it will most likely come with a version of vag com.The worst bit is setting up the correct port on the computer! Best wishes Mike......oops Dave ;) Edited October 1, 2012 by dlt1617 Quote
seatkid Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 A possible candidate is a faulty injector wiring loom or connector. Its a relatively common fault and you can get a replacement loom quite cheaply. Quote
