mrben Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Hello all. The steering loss only happened for a couple of seconds (twice in about an hour-never happened before). It seemed to be when i had the right hand down on both occasions, it sort of when completely stiff, i pulled over with a racey heart, but it was then fine when pulled away. That was yesterday, hasn't happened today. It wasn't raining, so it wasn't the belt getting wet and slipping, and the fluid is at the right level. Anyone experienced this before? Is it just the power pump on the way out? Thanks. Quote

Bigjeeze Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Check condition of the power steering belt and make sure it isn't slipping. You can also check the alternator pulley - this can sometimes give an unusual effect like this when it starts to lock up the wrong way. Have a look in the FAQ's Quote
mrben Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 ok i'l renew power belt to rule that out. Alternator pulley has been done a month back.Thanks. Quote
