Hi Team,

Has anyone had any cruise control issues?

My problem is intermittant. sometimes when engaged and either the decrease or increase speed button is pressed, cruise control disengages. The system has to be reset before it will engage again and then the same happens again.

On another journey, it will function normally and wont miss a beat.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved!

I have the same and never really twigged what cause is. At times I wondered if I had caught the off button by mistake but I've definatly had it kick out while trimming the speed.

I Had this on my 58 model. firstly when I would press the pluss or minus button, then just randomly cut out. Took to ford garage (on last day of warranty !). They said it was with replaced it under warranty and no more problems ...... for 9 months. It has started again about 3 months ago. not as bad and becomes intermittently worse then gets a bit better. Provides some entertainment on longer journeys!

its very unlikely to be a control button problem

I seen this happy on my own galaxy  and my brother in laws mondeo

the Mondeo had two sets of new controls fitted

the fix is to get to get ford to update all modules in car to latest version for that version if the car - it only the very latest software that fixes the cruise control dropout problems when setting the set speed

these bugs are in both types of cruise control -  normal and the advanced radar type

iirc using the on board diagnostic check there may well be listed the version you are running, then phone fords to see if it is current and up to date.

that way this should save you a few quid.
