Galaxy newbie Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 I know the diesels double up with the glow plug light. But my mate has bought a petrol gal that had no eml come on when first switching ignition on. So he's stripped the clock console down to the pcb thinking its a dodgy bulb but there is no place for the eml?? Anyone got any ideas. Thanks. Andy. P.s car is a 98 2.0 petrol mk 1 Quote
Galaxy newbie Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 If it helps he has all the same lights on the dash console as my diesel incl the glow plug light. Do you think someone could have put the clocks from a diesel in it at some point. Quote
SilverBeast Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 I think the rev counter on a diesel won't go as high as on the petrol engines. I'm not sure the speedo would read correctly either as I understand the signals from the sensor are different. Quote
Galaxy newbie Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 But as far as we can tell his gal has no eml. Does that sound right to you? Quote
