Power Lose

Hoping some body can help me again. I have a 54 plate 1.9 tdi 130bhp when i'm driving the car just loses power. It does not do it on a regular basis sometimes a week or so apart. I could be driving round town or on a motorway and the power just goes as if there is no turbo. Any ideas welcome.

Could be the MAF sensor, turbo boost sensor or the turbo itself. Give it a high rev drive in every gear to clear out turbo soot.

When revving car is there a lot of black smoke coming from the exhaust? if so prob turbo otherwise check the sensors

 

get a garage to plug in a computer to read the ECU for error codes

As already said, the problem could be anything. If you have a laptop, then buy yourself a cheap cable from eBay, download the free software and do the scan as opposed to paying garages upto £50 just for the diagnostics.

Once that is done, post your scan results here and i am sure someone will help you.
