Whers Do The Cruise Parts Live On A Mkii ?

Hi I'm new here and I'm the happy owner of Mkii. I just bought the car faults n all and boy it's got faults at only 57.000m.

 

I have a Ghia model, 2.3 2001 and yes it has cruise and yes it don't work.

 

I was looking for an idicator light on the dash. All cars have that if they have cruise. It has an on and off swtich on the stalk so logic says it's got a control light on the dash right .... er no, it don't.

 

 

 

 

Where do I start with my fault diagnosis?

 

Firstly, where are all the bits? Is this

a vacum system? An electric system?

 

Is there a diagram of the cruise on here? I did look but didn't find anything

 

I did pop into Fords today, sadly the bloke on the spares was clueless and couldn't help one bit.

 

Any help I could get from you guys would be very much appreciated.

See Tech FAQ 21 . Almost certainly a split vacuum pipe on the vaccum pump located behind n/s front indicator.

Many thanks. I'll take out the headlight assembly and have a peek in there. Hopefully it'll be a simple fix.

Just loosen the one screw holding the n/s indicator and slide it forward and out.
