If your car starts then cuts out straight away would mean that the small 'pats' chip located in the key is missing. Its normally located in the main part of the key (a small rectangular silver chip)I assume the other key is a none fob type key but starts the car? Quote
seatkid Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 As Saif says, the PATS chip is probably missing. Did you open the keyfob to change the batteries? It is known to drop out easily if you open up the key. The PATS chip is located in the key head as here Quote
blabla123 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 yea just looked theres no chip in there. the previous owner must of dropped it as its been like that since i got it. were can i get a chip from and how much would it cost Quote

I can only suggest that you take time out and phone around. Auto locksmiths is another option.Let us know how you get on so we can advice other members if they have the same problem and best of luck.
