Engine Oil For A Tdi 2003

Hi, I would like to give my 53 TDI 1.9 Galaxy an oil change,and as this is my first Galaxy can any one reccomend a make and either part or fully sinthetic.?

The book states SAE 5W/30 and a certain Ford spec. but I have seen various oils that claim to either meet or exceed Ford

specs.

You must make sure that the oil you use is to VW505.01 spec otherwise you can get premature engine wear. The TDI engine in the Galaxy is actually a VW engine.

5w- 40 fully synth oil, the handbook advises an infereior oil ususally used in all the ford 16v petrol engines (5-30 fully synth).

 

i buy fuchs titan gt-1 pd from local ford dealers but all motor factors will sell a decent pd- engine oil (unique oil for vw engine)
