sparky Paul Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 Which engine? As a general stab in the dark, could be oil pump, oil pump drive, blocked oil strainer in sump, or kaput main bearings. Quote

seatkid Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 oil light on, dip stick on full were to start looking,no diagram. tony There is no "diagram" for this. This must one of the shortest, light on facts, requests to date apart from the recent crop of "My car wont start, help!" questions. Some background leading up to the fault and as much relevant information is required before you can expect any member to help. We are not mind-readers... :25: Your title says no oil on cams, but then you say it drives well. ???? Have you taken the rocker cover off and established there is no oil getting to the cams? Oil light on may just be a faulty oil pressure switch or wiring. You need to establish if there is really no oil pressure/oil flow (usually loud banging from the engine main bearings will be a dead giveaway), running the engine in this condition for more than a few seconds will probably cause extensive damage that will require a total engine rebuild. If there really is no oil pressure, and hence no oil flow then its a sump off job and check the items in Sparky Pauls list. Quote
