Peter2904 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Whilst undoing the oil filter this morning, I have managed to snap th orange oil dip stick tube. I have ordered a new one and have bunged the pipe up to keep me going for a couple of days, but does anyone know how the pipe is attached to metal pipe, I can't get it to budge, i can turn it around but it obviously doesn't unscrew, and have tried just pulling it but due to th limited space I can't get a good grip and it will not budge. I don want to break what's left off as I don't want anything going down the pipe. Help....... Quote
SilverBeast Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Ford TIS just shows it being wiggled and pulled out, though this is probably easier with one that hasn't been broken.... I suggest you look at the bottom of the new one when you receive it as it probably has a lip that holds it in place when fitted Quote
daddyfixit Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 very common to all the 1900 pd engines-------gsf stock the tubes !! they turn so brittle with age, as though made out of walkers plain crisps !!! Quote
