james seddon Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 noise coming from power steering can anyone help Quote
dlt1617 Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Strange I thought someone would have replied to this but as no takers I'll give you a few suggestions :) The first thing to check with any power steering noises is the fluid level as if low the system can become noisy. You haven't mentioned which Galaxy you have, if it's a mark one you can sometimes get a sort of juddering/resonating noise when turning the wheel at walking pace speeds which is caused by the fluid in one of the pas pipes pulsing and resonating the pipe. This pipe was modified to stop the noise but truthfully it doesn't harm anything but can be a bit disconcerting. Otherwise what model/year and when do you get the noise i.e. hot or cold etc would be helpful Best wishes Dave Quote

Ford1973 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I have this issue when turning left at walking pace, a whining noise is heard, and yes it is a 1.9TDI Ghia 2003, so is this anything to be concerned about?, there is no vibration or stiffness in the steering at all. Quote
