Front Electric Windows Have Stopped Working

hi i have an s reg 1998 ford galaxy 2.3 auto. the front electric windows have just stopped working, i have been through the fuses under the steering wheel and there isn't any blown. is there a switch or fuse somewhere else that iv missed?

Isn't that one of the things that goes wrong if the electronics box under the passenger seat gets wet? Does the rear wash work? If not, chances are the pipe has come off in the passenger footwell and is soaking the carpet.

ah yeah thanks forgot all about that box will have to have a look tomorrow now as its raining again!!!!!!!

have just been out to the car and checked and i don't have any box in the section under the passengers seat nor the drivers

Have you tried the passenger window from the passenger door switch as well as the drivers side?

If that works it could be the wires splitting in the rubber gaiters that take them into the door on the drivers side.

If it doesn't it could still be the same!.

Plenty of posts detailing this. First place on the site to check would be theFAQ's as this details how to inspect and repair them.

Almost certainly wires in door gaiter...

20 minute fix with a soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing. Its worth checking all 4 of the door gaiters.

done mine for the 2nd time on saturday, a red /yellow wire had rubbed through a thick brown one.

 

spliced them and heatshrunk until the next time................

Agree it's the wire in door loom, mine snapped 3 wires 2 week ago and it stopped both windows working
