lilbob Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 hi all as the title explainsmy passanger side rear quarter window has developed a leak any ideas on what it could be iv cleaned the sealing rubber and i cant see any damage to it (i did this while the glass was in ) is it a big job to replace the seal?how hard is it to get the glass outcheers all Quote
SilverBeast Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Make sure it's the window. The hose for the rear wash wipe runs up in the 'D' pillar behind the window. On mine there is a junction at around the height of the back seat belt top mounting. This had come apart (in a similar fashion to the usual separation in the front passenger footwell) and was squirting water into the D pillar which ran down into the cubby hole on the passenger side which house the rear heating and air con (if fitted) it then came under the carpet into the boot area.If rear wash wipe isn't squirting but pump is running it may be this. Get an assisstant to operate and see if it is running inside the cubby if this is the case - not for too long or it will take longer to dry! Quote
lilbob Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 i'll try the wash wipe tomorrow night to see Quote
westonmac Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 if you add a screen wash which has a colour this might help, i opened the tailgate to discover blue screen wash in the locking catch, i got a split or leak some where in the pipe in the tailgate area. when i got time i will have a look Quote
lilbob Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 ok i checked the wash wipe and its still working the water seems to be coming in at the top of the window and running down on to the trim panelon a different note the engine would not stop running after the keys were removed (it doesnt do it all the time) and all the lights on the dash came on (the oil light was orange) any ideas on the cause and more important the cure ? also when the engine is on tick over the revs seem to pick up on their own?
