hello i ,ve just took my car for mot all it failed on was a tyre driveshaftgater which is being done also fog light switch is staying on any ideas what they are on about fog lights go on and off

AFAIK Fog lights are not part of the MOT and cannot fail MOT. Edited July 6, 2012 by seatkid

Front aren't part of the MOT test but back ones are.

Yup, Saif you're right! AND the tell tale (little light on the switch) also needs to work correctly (just looked it up).

 

OP needs to check his rear fog bulb (located in offside tailgate cluster).

 

The "always on" telltale is probably a faulty switch but check the tester pushed the switch fully in to turn off the fog lights otherwise the telltale will be lit in the park and headlamp positions.
