Anyone Used Or Heard Of Planet Oil

Hi Folks

 

service time and i'm going to do it myself this time, At my local motor factors I get a nice discount for being in the ambulance service, the oil they have supplied is planet oil, IT IS VW 505.01 spec PD oil. I noticed it is 'bottled' by Comma. Has any one used this stuff, got it for a not unreasonable £20 + vat for 5 litres,

Never heard of Planet Oil but have of Comma.

Apparently Planet Oil is made by Comma (owned by Esso) who in return supply Halfords (own brand).

But since you are on the ball with the crucial specification then 'go for it'!

I've used it for the past two services now, seems to be no problems at all. Besides being the right 505.01 spec. it states on the plastic container PD oil. Because I tend to do low mileage & shortish journeys I change the oil every 6 to 9 months, usually by then the service indicator is saying 2000 miles before the next service.

With the price of Planet oil being so reasonable compared to others it's worth doing it more frequently.
