rjdevinett Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Hi guys. I bought a galaxy for my wife a few weeks ago and thought its time to book it in for a major service at the dealers (as it has fdsh etc) And the air con wasn't working so i booked a re-gas.But when i collected the car today i was told that the alternator belt needs replacing (no problem, cheapish £75 fitted). But they also said that i have a large intercooler leak, but i have no loss of power or anything. (£380 fitted). Also they couldn't re-gas air con as it has a pipe split. No problem i thought but its £155 +VAT for the part plus fitting as they said it was a git, so it would be £305 fitted. So to re-cap:alternator belt £75intercooler £380Air con pipe £305.So my long winded question is how hard is it to replace the air con pipe and intercooler my self etc. Or can i repair either. Or should i just not worry to much about the intercooler leak as its not affecting the performance. Im only concerned about everything as I'm driving it to france in a few weeks with the family. All your help and advice would be great fully appreciated as i need to try and get the problems resolved asap and cheap as i can obviously.Thank you all again.
