alipman Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 There was a post about this from a couple of years ago but as a new Galaxy owner I am going to get one for those big holidays. The item number is 1384455. Has anyone got one?Did you fit it yourself or did you get Fords to fit? Cost for fitting etc? On My 03 Mondeo I got the Ford dog guard £160 or so, even though I dont have a dog. This was the metal bar type, so this Galaxy Net type looks a lot more practical in that I can have it in the car and take it down without having to store the thing in my garage. Love to here who has one. Thanks Quote
davewill Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Don't know what the RRP price is for this, but there is one seller on ebayhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Galaxy-Load-protection-Luggage-Net-1384455-2006-Onwards-/220766488157?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item3366b5465d Still seems a hefty amount to pay for a luggae net Quote
alipman Posted June 22, 2012 Author Report Posted June 22, 2012 Thanks, I have seen this.I know its a lot but with a growing family and holidays it appears the only option to ensure that stuff doesnt come forward from the boot space in case of accident/heavy braking etc. Makes the packing of stuff more stable. scooper1 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 had lots of arguments about this net with ford about then getting hold of one instead of a apple stopper ... basically it comes with two templates and you have to cut the head linner at correct points and insert the suppied plastic fittings - bit of a swine to get correct to be honest you might be better off with dog guard . the net has a low inpact rating but I think 15kG but I suspect that is for 120mph into solid wall ! alipman Posted June 25, 2012 Author Report Posted June 25, 2012 Thanks for this. According to the Ford brochure it meets some ECE directive.Maybe this is 15kg load at the speed you mention. Maybe the dog guard is the way to go. Need to have a think. Did you get this fitted to yours then? Was it a faff? Or easy to do? Quote
