Intermittent Starting Mk11 1.9tdi

Great site guys n dolls, just wondering if the relay 30 (27) is only problematic with the 2.3 petrol or can this affect the 1.9tdi 115 bhp as mine seems to go for a couple of weeks of starting fine then it just won't start. She turns over fine but seems like fuel starvation, if i leave it for about 10 mins it starts, then if i stop it sometimes it starts again and sometimes it don't. I am now thinking that it seems to do it more in the hot weather.

So sorry, found the answer from a post a couple of days ago, relay 109 seems to be at fault.

Nonetheless I'd be interested to see if changing 109 solves your problems. With mine changed last night, I'm going to take a few drives this weekend to see if it's better.

Let's compare notes when you've changed it.

I wish I had read this thread before last weekend!! I was offered a 2001 2.3 Ford Galaxy with a full body kit and everything for £100. I turned it down because it needed a new steering rack (pretty straight forward) and he was having relay issues with it as sometimes it wouldn't start!! I feel gutted now!! :(

Hi guys, just an update after changing relay 109 no problems starting at all. have now done over 500 miles since changing it, been on holiday with the car fully loaded still no problems.
