woodywoodpecker Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 HI COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE RED CIRCLED WIRE WOULD GO ON A DIESIEL ENGINE THANKS IN ADVANCESTEVE Quote
alan_131 Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Hi SteveI'd like to try to help but I really don't understand what you're trying to do here - maybe if you could give some more information. Is this a remotely activated alarm system, remote device for disabling/tracking the car if stolen, some form of remote monitoring or central locking? Can you tell us what the wire you've asked about is supposed to do? Also, what model/year/gearbox - the mk1 and mk2 tdi's are very different engines electronically speaking as I understand it though I'm no expert. Quote
nicebutdim Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 The image looks like it is pointing towards coiling the wire from the ?alarm? around the coil ht lead. Maybe it can sense the engine is running from the pulses picked up by induction. On a Diesel you have no chance of replicating this, there simply just isn't an ht circuit. Quote

bj2004 Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 yes looks that way to me alsoperhaps you could find a signal from the speed sensor system you might have to build a little amplifier toor speak to the manufacturer sure theyve had this befor Quote
