macgill Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Evening all Had my 07 reg serviced recently by Ford dealership. They said that i need to renew the bushes in both rear trail arms, only prob is that the bushes come with the arms complete. I am trying to locate a diagram which shows the layout of the arms connected to remainder of suspension and the possibility of a part number as i may be able to source them cheaper than Ford can. Can anyone help? Thanks Quote
Stephen154 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 what can of noise or knocking is it doing?I had to get an intercooler from a main dealer as not avaliable yet so the same could be said of the rear trail arms. They do normally come as an complete unit Quote
macgill Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 No noise, knocking or undue movement whatsoever. Managed to get underneath recently to have a good look myself. Bushes do show very slight signs of perishing but nothing bad. Ford garage making it sound worse than it is. Will probably last a few more MOT's yet i reckon. Quote
smokie Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 hi did you ever find these any cheaper.i have a bad knock and squeek from my rear suspension and i have been told that these are the problem. looking at the bushes they are knackered on both sides. the part is 175 pounds each from ford and i cannot find them listed anywhere else. i have also been quoted a full days labour to fit them. Whats really annoying me is that when the car first developed this knock i took it back to garage where i bought it from (2nd hand) and they told me that it wasn't covered under the extended warranty that i had been sold as it was considered a wear part?? i have read the warranty at it does state that wear parts like exhausts are covered as i would expect but surely a major part of the rear suspension like this cant be classed as a wear part? but it also states something about waer and tear and gradual reduction in performance due to age and mileage - the car had only covered 44,000 miles and was approx 4 yrs old when i purchased it. I am not a happy bunny. Quote
