wjw Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 After becoming intermitent the speedo on my Mk1 Aklhambra 1999 1.9TDi 110hp has stopped working.Error code 00625 Implausable signal. I have read a number of posts on here regarding the VSS which I have removed. Looks sound and wiring looks good. Can you test the VSS or is a faulty unit identifeid by substitution with known good one? Quote
wjw Posted June 10, 2012 Author Report Posted June 10, 2012 Chased fault to correded earth wire on loom from speed sensor.Brown and green wire earths on front left of engine below circular mutilplug. Copper wire had correded to dust = no circuit. Removed contact, cleaned cutback to clean wire and soldered. Speedo fault sorted. Thanks to the forum and a 2008 post highlighting this issue. To gain access I removed air inlet manifold to intercooler pipes. Serious amount of crud in inlet manifold doen stream of EGR valve, but with 180k on 1.9tdi no surprise. Anyone got advice on removing maanifold & cleaning? Worth doing for + mpg? WJW Quote
