sitnstay Posted May 30, 2012 Author Report Posted May 30, 2012 Have a look under dash right hand sidethank you looked there but there is only a glove compartment, with air conditioning unit behind it....there is fuse box on drivers side below steering column, BUT fuses go from 51 to 62 and I require fuse 37? wjw Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Check condition of wires in door looms where they articulate. Experienced just this issue with near side window and mirror failure chased down to broken wires in drivers door loom and failed offside passenger window due to broken wire in O/S passenegr door loom. The plastic insulation goes hard with age and breaks wires. Check out post on FAQs. Quote

seatkid Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 On my fuse box infographic (late 98 tdi with AHU engine) Fuse 2 appears to be electric windows and mirrors. Note: major changes occurred going from early 98 (1Z engine) to late 98 (AHU/AFN) models. The wiring was completely revamped and fuses/layout are completely different. Quote
