jonstone Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Following on from my topic - http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/24347-diesel-misfire-best-way-i-can-explain-it/ I have removed the rocker cover, and now need to swap the injector loom for a new one. A couple of pics attached. Does anyone know the best way to remove the loom connectors from the PD injectors. I guess there is some sort of plastic "tag/locking thing" which I need to find and prise clear? thanks Quote
dlt1617 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Hi I'm amazed that you have had no other replies, the connector on the top of the injector is only a push fit so long nose pliers on the connector and pull carefully Best wishes Dave Quote
seatkid Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Looking at the picture of a loom here it looks as if the connector is on the right hand side of the head(looking towards the rear of the car). After disconnecting each connecor at the injectors, it looks simply as if you undo the cylinder head connector mounting bolts and pull the assembly out. Edited May 30, 2012 by seatkid Quote
M0GWR Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 I have just done my this afternoon. I used a pair of long nose pliers to pull the plugs off the injectors . Then if you look on the bar with the wires running through there are clips for the plugs to sit in , the new one will already be clipped in if you look. Then draw the whole thing out but you will need to press the steel clips in with a screw driver as they go through the hols in the head. Quote
jonstone Posted June 1, 2012 Author Report Posted June 1, 2012 Thanks everyone. Job done this morning. New loom installed, and also cleaned out the EGR. Loom was 42 quid plus VAT from TPS They had the loom on the shelf. Been for a quick test drive and all OK, but need to go for a longer drive to really know. Quote
M0GWR Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Hope it has fixed it for you. TPS here wanted Quote
