Central Locking With Mind Of Its Own

Hello all. I have an 02 tdi ghia. When driving the central locking decides to lock all the doors causing the hazard lights to come on. Able to unlock by pulling lever on inside. Have found some broken wires stopping windows in back from working. Is it just a case of broken wires or something more sinister?

Check the wiring in all four rubber gaitors to the doors, also the rubber gaitors on the tailgate. The insulation on the wiring goes brittle and drops off and wires short or break. See Tech FAQ for 3 threads on the subject. (requires a browser that isnt IE - which doest work)

Thanks for your response- will give it a good look over. Also the drivers door lock barrel has worked itself loose and fallen inside. My list of fiddly jobs seems to be getting bigger! Thanks for advice on browser - will try firefox
