steve.cafc Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Hello everyone, Could you please help me with the climate control on my 2002 Alhambra TDI, The climate control isn't working, as well as the flashing display I have also got an error code 00792, which I read as a pressure switch error. Could you tell me if the error code is saying the switch is faulty or is the error code saying the pressure switch has been activated and that I'm actually low on pressure in the system ? I've had a quick look with an ultra violet torch and have found no leaks ? Many Thanks for any help, Steve. Quote
bfc1001 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 dont know about the number in relation to if it just needs a re gas or the sensor is faulty but u can always take the sensor off and test with a voltmeter . if you get a continuity reading from the plug to the casing of the sensor its faulty . you should only get a reading from the valve only. SilverBeast Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Link to Ross-Tech Site --> Fault Code 00792 What's the full message for this fault code? Quote
steve.cafc Posted May 28, 2012 Author Report Posted May 28, 2012 Hello, Thank you for your quick reply, my full error is 00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129) 35 - 10 Intermittent I hope that I haven't got to replace the switch as its screwed in tight (just tried), and the welds aren't too great on the fittings for it. I can see myself tearing some aluminium tubing !!! Hopefully it just needs a re-gas. Speaking of re-gassing, I have two re-gas screw fittings in my engine bay, do both of these pipes share the same pressure switch behind the drivers side front bumper, or is there another switch somewhere ? I have an Alhambra with the front/rear climate control. I haven't got the roof mounted vents that I've seen in Galaxy's ? Many Thanks Steve. Quote
bfc1001 Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 i would say it just needs a re gas. your error message would say short to ground (or words to that effect).both screw fittings work off the same system . the one on the driver s side is for re gassing. Quote
sparky Paul Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 As bfc says above, almost certainly needs a regas... hopefully you haven't got any leaks anywhere. The two connections are the high and low pressure ports, and there should be a sticker on the slam panel with the correct gas quantity. Quote
Le Belge Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Hi, I had the same issue and had it re-gased by Kwik-fit, the error is gone and the air was only cold for a few minutes then warm again. The main fan is not turning so do you know if this means that I would need to change the compressor or is there another fix? Cheers, Le Belge Quote
Rntaylor Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Hi Just joined the forum, got a similar snag with my ASZ 1.9 Tdi Sharan. Fuse 3 keeps blowing with loss of several systems including the A/C. Told it was probably related to the A/C pressure switch. Not found it yet, but do know that the system does need a re-gas. So, do I need to replace the £40 switch before I re-gas, or not? Is the switch for both under and over pressure? Grateful for any help. Edited November 2, 2012 by Rntaylor Quote
SilverBeast Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 It's under the front bumper cover below the headlight and in front of the wheel on the drivers side and yes it does over and under pressure. If faulty definitely replace it before a regas as if you remove it when gassed it will allow it leak out! Quote
Rntaylor Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks for your post. Yet to try and undo it, but I now have a replacement for just under £30 from Eurocarparts. Will replace it then take it for a re-gas. Thanks for the help Quote
